Admission requirements
- The Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) Certification Examination is required if an applicant is from a country where English is not the official language or if an applicant’s degree is from an institution where English is not the language of instruction. Alabama A&M University’s TOEFL code is 1003. The TOEFL essentials required minimum score for admission is Level 8, the suggested score for a PHD student is Level 10. The TOEFL IBT required minimum score for admissions is 72, the suggested score for a PHD student is 95. To meet the English proficiency admission requirement, students can also us the International English Language Testing System (IELTS): the required minimum score is 6.5, with a PHD student suggested score of 7.0. The Duolingo English is also accepted with a required minimum score of 105, with a suggested PHD student score of 125.
